It's our birthday month, and we're feeling a little reflective. We've spent the last year talking to you — about scalp health, about ingredients, about why clarifying shampoo is basically the exfoliator your hair never knew it needed.  

Today we want to let you do the talking. 

Because here's the thing about building a brand: you can write all the product descriptions in the world, but nothing tells the story better than the people who actually opened the bottles. The ones who took a chance on something new, worked it into their routines, and came back — sometimes literally — to tell us what happened. 

So consider this our re-introduction. Not through our words, but through yours. 

Before we get into it, a quick introduction of a different kind. 

The name Aliis — pronounced ah-lease — is Latin for "to or for others." That wasn't an accident or a late-night naming session that happened to sound pretty. It was the whole point. 

When Aliis was founded, the vision was simple and a little quietly radical: take the best ingredients — the ones that genuinely work, the ones that belong on your hair and your body and nowhere near a "do not use if" warning label — and actually share them. Our formulations came from someone who spent years knowing exactly what should and shouldn't go into hair care, working with those ingredients at the highest level, and eventually asking a question that felt obvious once it was asked: why not put the best combinations together and offer them to everyone? 

That's Aliis. Made for others. Made with what we'd actually want to use ourselves. 

And when we read reviews like the ones below — people discovering the line for the first time, people coming back for a second bottle, people handing our products to their partners and reporting back — it feels like the name is doing exactly what it was always meant to do. 

Hair Masque & Butter: Where We're Starting, Because Chenille Said So 

We could start anywhere. We're starting here. 

Chenille Porter found us at Beauty New York 2025. She picked up the Hair Masque & Butter, wasn't entirely sure how it would work for her hair as a woman of color, and tried it anyway. Then she went home and bought two more — in larger sizes. 

Here's what she wrote: 

"I found out about this extraordinary product through the first beauty expo of its kind that I attended in New York City. Shortly after what I used for my purchase at the show, I purchased two more larger sizes. This will be my new go-to for deep conditioning. I believe that anyone else that tries this will feel the same way regardless of ethnicity or hair texture type. This was truly made for all." 

We think about this review a lot. Not just because it's generous, but because it captures exactly what we set out to do: make a line that works for everyone, with ingredients that earn that claim. Reveree, who has curly bleached hair — one of the more demanding combinations out there — called it a "game changer" and said the effectiveness on her hair "cannot be understated." WiredWrong, working with dyed, damaged, dry, low porosity hair, said it's "one of the better ones" she's tried, and that a little goes a long way. Royal, who has the full set, put it plainly: "The ingredient list is solid: clean and botanical-forward." And Eurogamer called it "dreamy thick, smells divine, packed with the best goods."

Clarifying Shampoo: The Reset Button (That You Only Need Once a Week) 

We hear a version of the same thing pretty regularly: clarifying shampoos are stripping. They're too harsh. They dry everything out. 

And then people try our Clarifying Shampoo. 

Kendall O. came in hesitant — dry, damaged hair, understandably cautious. She left converted: "It lathers nicely and didn't make my hair feel super dry. My scalp also felt great afterwards." Lightweight Conditioner: The One That's A Flawless Find 

We'll just say it: on our site, the Lightweight Conditioner has a five-star record across every single review. We're not saying that to brag (though we’re not not bragging, either). We're saying it because the reviews tell a really consistent story, and that consistency is meaningful. 

Dani T. called it "ACTUALLY Lightweight" — the all-caps doing the work of someone who has been lied to by "lightweight" conditioners before. Emily F. loves it paired with the Clarifying Shampoo. Jolene D. called it "the perfect conditioner to go along with the renewing feel of the clarifying shampoo." Mandy T. said it made her hair smooth and easier to comb through. And Eurogamer — one of our most ingredient-conscious reviewers — said it has "the quality of the mask but in a lighter, daily formula" and called finding it a "flawless find." 

What keeps coming up, review after review, is the pairing. The Clarifying Shampoo and Lightweight Conditioner were designed to work together — a weekly reset followed by a conditioner that restores without weighing down. It's not an accident that people keep describing the combination the same way. That's what formulating a line that works together actually looks like in practice.

Daily Conditioner: The Everyday Hero 

Some of our favorite reviews came in during the very first weeks after launch. Angie S. wrote in on April 24, 2025 — fifteen days after we went live — to say she'd noticed significant improvements in her scalp and hair, less dryness, less irritation, less hair fall, and that Aliis "truly delivers on its promises." Amanda O., also from April 2025, found us through a friend's recommendation and said her hair has "never looked shinier." 

We think about those early reviews a lot too. 

The Daily Conditioner keeps showing up in reviews for a very specific reason: it does what it says without drama. WiredWong, with thin, low porosity, color-treated hair, said it exceeded her expectations and leaves her hair "looking healthy and soft when it dries." John Greybeard — yes, that's his reviewer name, and we love him for it — said it gives "hydration without the heavy residue." A couple brought it on a five-day out of town trip as their main conditioner. Happy to report: it passed the travel test. 

And then there's this pattern we've noticed, and we find it genuinely sweet: husbands reviewing conditioner for their wives. Tony wrote in to say his wife loves it and they'll definitely be ordering more. D Anderson kept it even simpler: "Great product my wife loves it. Just right, not leaving hair heavy." We don't know the backstory on either of these, but we like to imagine they did something very right that day. 

For anyone who finds the formula a little more fluid than expected — that's intentional. There are no silicones, no heavy thickeners. It absorbs rather than coats. The result is hair that feels genuinely clean and conditioned rather than just... covered. 

Daily Shampoo: The One You Can Actually Use Every Day 

Remember when everyone said you shouldn't wash your hair every day? We talked about this. We still stand by our position: with the right shampoo, daily washing is not only fine — it's good for your scalp. 

The Daily Shampoo reviews back this up in a pretty satisfying way. Angie S. noticed reduced dryness and irritation after a few weeks of consistent use. Tony's wife loves it — sulfate, paraben, and silicone free, better than other shampoos she'd tried, and actually improving her hair texture. Amanda O. said her hair has never looked shinier, and she can go to the gym and use her usual styling products without worrying about buildup. 

One review we want to address warmly: a reviewer with very long, thick hair found the lather lower than expected. This is a completely fair observation, and here's the honest answer — sulfate-free shampoos don't produce the same foam as conventional ones. Sulfates are what create that big, satisfying lather, but they're also what strip your scalp. Lower lather doesn't mean lower clean. For very long or very thick hair, a double application is genuinely recommended, and we say so right on the bottle. If you've had that experience, we hope that context helps. Your scalp is still getting clean — it just looks different than what decades of sulfate shampoos trained us to expect. 

Juveniis Hair & Skin Oil: The Overachiever 

One of our reviewers is on her second bottle. She bought Juveniis for her hair extensions, discovered it was also perfect for her natural hair and scalp, started using it on her cuticles, knees, and elbows, and declared it "a perfect pairing with other Aliis products." Second bottle. We'll let that sit for a moment. 

Elana B., one of our earliest customers, wrote in April 2025 to say it leaves her hair "soft, shiny, and frizz-free without feeling greasy" and keeps her skin "hydrated and glowing all day." Jude F. nailed it in six words: "Nourishing without being heavy." Cindy L. went even shorter: "LOVE." Lixa used it in the shower, finished with shampoo and conditioner, dried her hair, and said she was "so happy with how wonderful my hair looked." 

On our site, Juveniis has a perfect five-star record across 23 reviews. Every single one. 

One thing that comes up occasionally: the glass jar. It's a fair point — glass in the shower requires a little extra intention. Our suggestion is to apply Juveniis before you step in, not during. Let it sit on dry hair and scalp for at least 15 minutes — or overnight if you really want to go for it — then shampoo and condition as usual. The glass isn't going anywhere, and neither is the glow. 

Dry Shampoo: For the Days When Washing Is Simply Not Happening 

No judgment. We built our Dry Shampoo specifically for those days. 

Melanie H. called it a "lifesaver for busy days" — absorbs oil instantly, no chalky residue, voluminous, fresh, extends styles between washes. The no-residue thing matters more than it might seem. Most dry shampoos leave behind a white cast that you then have to spend five minutes blending out, at which point you've defeated the purpose. Ours absorbs and disappears. The five minutes you saved? Actually saved.
